CMA Awards go Urban

Keith Urban, one of the headliners at next year's C2C, won his second CMA Entertainer of The Year award at last nights CMA Awards, held at The Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. The New Zealand born singer won the same award 13 years ago.
He wasnt the only C2C artist to win last night.
Chris Stapleton, who went into the night with five nominations, won three awards - Male Vocalist, as well as Single & Song of the Year for "Broken Halos". He was the only multiple winner on the night.
Recent Glasgow visitor Kasey Musgraves won Album of the Year for "Golden Hour", on what was the 10th Anniversary of her arrrival in Music City.
Old Dominion were named Top Group, and Brothers Osborne (not to be confused with legendary Bluegrass duo The Osborne Brothers), who are in Glasgow next Sunday, were named Vocal Duo.  Luke Combs, another recent Glasgow visitor was given the New Artist Of The Year award.
Carrie Underwood, who hosted the show with Brad Paisley for the 11th consecutive year, was named Female Vocalist of the year.
One of the biggest surprises would come in the Vocal Event category, where David Lee Murphy won for his duet with Kenny Chesney on "Everything's Gonna Be Alright". Murphy had three albums released by MCA in the 90's, and released his first in 14 years with "No Zip Code" which features the award winning duet.
Rounding off the awards, Thomas Rhett won the Video award for "Marry Me" and Mac McAnally was named Top Musician.
No awards then for the Florida Georgia Line / Bebe Rexha duet, which is now spending its 50th week at No.1 on the Billboard Country chart.
BBC4 will show an hour long edited version on Friday 23rd at 10,25pm.
