Join the Hooley live

There's no Celtic Country this week as Celtic Music Radio is coming live from the Edinburgh Guitar Festival.

Lisa's homecoming


Ireland’s leading Artist LISA McHugh is looking forward with great enthusiasm to her homecoming performance on Sunday June 30th in Eastwood Park Theatre, Giffnock.
Lisa, who was born and bred in Glasgow is now climbing the ladder of success throughout Ireland and UK and is determined to make country cool as she builds a huge fan base with live performances, TV appearances and recordings.Having moved to Donegal , she launched her band a little over two years ago and has already released eight singles and two albums. Guildtown Bluegrass Festival

The well established Bluegrass Music Festival, held each year in the quiet Perthshire village, 6 miles north of Perth, is being organised this year by Glasgow based Zine Records.
Once again there's a superb line up from home & abroad, with Red Wine (Italy), Home Made Jam, Rancho, Goldrush, Fireflies, Kentucky Cowtippers, Dapper Mc Dans and Bernie & The Barnstormers
It all happens on the weekend of 19th, 20th, 21st of July 2013.



 

Shelby Lynne cancels Southern Fried visit

Shelby Lynne, who was lined up to appear at Perth's Southern Fried Festival in July, has pulled out of the event, and her other UK dates. The festival organisers are working on a replacement. watch this space !

 

Prairie Star

Alloa's Prairie Star club meets on Saturday June 1st in its usual Weirs Club venue. Music will be provided by Cheyene, who are visiting from down south.

AFN closing down

The once powerful AFN radio station in Germany, from which many Europeans got their first taste of American Country music, is closing its 873AM transmissions next Friday , May 31st. Here in Scotland, the station was immortalised in Tom Clellands's song "Country Music Once Again".
