Janey Kirk

Fife based singer songwriter Janey Kirk has a new CD out, called "Sweetheart Darlin'Of Mine". They album is available in HMV & Virgin, and Janey is the cover girl in October's Country Music & Dance In Scotland magazine.

50 years of George IV

As you will know by now, George Hamilton IV celebrates 50 years as a recording artist this year. Suer Marshall has organised a fans & friends meet with George on October 2nd in Edinburgh's Minto Hotel, from 12 Noon-3pm, with a concert with George & Tony Goodacre (also celebrating 50 years in the business) at night.

Local clubs in August

Forth Valley dates in August include Western Rythym's return to The San Quentin CWC (Polmont Golf Club, Maddison) on Friday 4th.
The Prairie Star have their holiday show on July 29th with Carson City, and another date on August 19th with Reunion. Both events at Alloa's Weirs Social Club.
The Brightons Linedancers, now meeting in the Polmont Golf Club, have Carson City on Aug 25th.

 

Caithness Festival 2007

Those well organised folks at the Northern Nashville CMC in Thurso have already got next year's Easter Festival plans well in hand. Once again Halkirk's Indoor Riding Centre is the venue, and already announced to play over the April 6th-8th weekend include Jett Williams (daughter of the legendary Hank Williams), Belgium's Montana Blaze (who are also playing the club in August)& England's Diesel Cowboys.

 

New Alan Jackson

A new Alan Jackson album, produced by Allison Krauss will be released in September, but for fans who want a sneak preview, you can hear a clip from the single "Like Red On A Rose". Just click on the link here.

 

Lisa O'Kane

Just announced- Lisa O'Kane plays Glenfarg's Famous Bein' Inn on Sunday 23rd July at 9pm.
O'Kane will show off her earnest country-folk voice, which is reminiscent of Emmylou Harris, though not without sass and swing of its own.
