Windy City blows into charts

The much anticipated new album from Alison Krauss charted at No.3 in the Scottish Album Sales charts on it's first week of release. "Windy City" is her first solo album for 18 years, and features Alison's unique take on songs previously recorded by legends like Brenda Lee, The Osborne Brothers, Roger Miller, Vern Gosdin and Bill Monroe,

 

UK Country Live in Glasgow

Following on from Country On The Clyde last month, the team at UK Country Live have a homegrown showcase of Country talent on display at Glasgow's Broadcast venue on Saturday April 22nd. Ashton Lane headline alongside Gravel Tracks and Highland newcomer Hollie Atkinson,

 

2CD release for C2C

This year's Country2Country Festival may be just a memory, but Humphead Records have released a 50 track 2 CD collection featuring acts that have appeared at the five C2C festivals since 2013. The collection includes headliners like Reba McEntire, Rascall Flatts, Miranda Lambert, Brad Paisley, Dwight Yoakam and Vince Gill, alongside British acts The Shires & Ward Thomas.
The collection, called "5 Years Of C2C" (Best of 2013-2017.

Prairie Star celebrate 29th Birthday

The Prairie Star Country & Western Club will be in Weir Soc & Rec. Club, Church St, Alloa, on Saturday 1st April, with 'James n' Wood'  on stage at 8pm, for the club's 29th Anniversary.

Scottish Country stations launched

Three Scottish local radio stations have launched online Country music stations. The stations from Aberdeen based Original 106, Dundee's Wave 102 and Stirling's Central FM have round the clock Country music with local news at the top of the hour.

Tia returns

Canadian singer songwriter Tia McGraff returns to Scotland at the start of May, with a house concert at the studios of Celtic Music Radio in Glasgow. The event, at the station's Kinning Park home takes place on Monday May 1st.
