Two more to Hillbilly Heaven

The legendary BUCK OWENS passed away last weekend. Famous for his hits like "Tiger By The Tail", "Loves Gonna Live Here" and "Together Again", Buck was credited with creating "The Bakersfield Sound". He notched up 84 hits, including 21 No.1 Country hits, including his "Streets Of Bakersfield" duet with Dwight Yoakam in 1988.
Fellow Texan, CINDY WALKER, one of Country music's highest regarded songwriters also passed away this week. Many of the songs that she wrote, including "Take Me In Your Arms & Hold Me" and "You Dont Know Me", are covered on Willie Nelson's new CD.

Brightons hosts Charity night

The Brightons Line Dancers will be hosting a charity night for the Oncology Ward at Falkirk Royal Infirmary on Friday, March 31st in their usual venue of Brightons British Legion. Music will come from Carson City.

 

April dates in Forth Valley

The Prairie Star get the month off to a great start with a visit from Nashville Skyline on April 1st. The venue, as ever, is Weir Pumps Social Club, Church Street, Alloa.
The San Quentin will meet in Polmont Golf Club, Maddison, near Falkirk on the 7th, when Greyhound Express will be pulling into town.

Country Legends in Dunfermline

The touring Country Legends show returns to Dunfermline's Carnegie Hall on April 20th

 

Country music at Falkirk Town Hall

The ever popular "Forever In Blue Jeans" country music extravaganza, featuring Carole Gordon & Bob Newman returns to Falkirk Town Hall on April 1st.
Also heading for the same venue is Irishman Michael English. he'll be on stage there on May 6th.
And Dominic Kirwan is already booked in there for October 24th.
