Ten Guitars for Michael English - Scottish dates
Popular Irish singer Michael English has just released the old Humperdink hit "Ten Guitars" as his new radio single.
"Ten Guitars" became the anthem of 1960s New Zealand Maories who had suffered the dislocation of moving from back-country marae to the Big Smoke. Singing it at parties, they could briefly experience their lost sense of belonging. And they added their "Maori strum" to the English tune.
Michael is on tour at the end of September with dates in Falkirk (28th) and Dunfermline (29th) as well as Arbroath and Langholm.
