Travis & Daniels to the Hall of Fame

This years inductees to The Country Music Hall of Fame have been announced at a ceremony in the Nashville venue this afternoon, by Brenda Lee. The event was streamed online to a worldwide audience.
Charlie Daniels was elected in the veteren performer category, and an ailing Randy Travis was elected in the modern category. Randy, who took a stroke in 2013 has just recently managed to walk again, was able to acknowledge the honour, but his wife, Mary Davis made his acceptance speech for him.
In the non-performing category, Fred Foster, who founded Monument Records, and was credited with launching the careers of everyone from George Hamilton IV and Kris Kristofferson to Willie Nelson was named the recipient.
Fred's honour was announced first, and he let slip, when he told the audience that he was honoured to be inducted alongside Randy Travis & Charlie Daniels.  Ooops !
Brenda Lee reacted by saying, "Well, as Fred has let the cat out of the bag, y'all can go home now!
The formal medallion ceremony will be held later in the year, to bring the number of inductees into the Hall of Fame to 130.
