24 Hour Country TV coming

Britain’s new 24 hour Country TV station launched on January 25th, with a wide variety of programmes from Ireland, the UK, America and Malta.  The station is the brainchild of Phil Mack, who has pioneered Country Music TV across Europe since launching his “Phil Mack International Country Show” 5 years ago. His sidekick on that programme, Lisa Stanley, gets her own programme on the new station. From America, Joni Harms, best known for putting the Western back in the Country has her own show. Also in the line up are several programmes that have sprung up in recent years on different satellite stations, like The Lawrence John Show, Bluegrass Ridge, Smith & Rogers, Keltic Country and Live Laugh Linedance- now all in the same place- on Sky Channel 261 & Freesat 402.
Three of the programmes on the new station are produced here in Scotland. Stuart Cameron brings us the Hotdisc Top 20 each week, whilst The Janey Kirk Show moves from Irish TV to the new station. Keep It Country TV will rebroadcast the previous series, which featured the likes of Lena Martell, Angie King and George Inglis, followed by new programmes recorded at the end of last month.
Also launching on the station is Caithness Music Television (CMT ?) from Wick based Pan Records. Their hour long programme featuring artists from the North East of Scotland hopes to launch later this month, with several airings through the week.
