Seven Sons for Meeting Place
Seven Sons make a welcome return to the Rutherglen's Meeting Place tomorrow night. They are an original folk/bluegrass band hailing from the banks of the Silvery Tay and the smokey hills of Edinburgh
Ruth Alexander and Clayr Borthwick formed the band in 2011, with Ruth and Clayr on vocals and ukulele. The band now comprises Barry Nisbet (Guitar and Fiddle), Bill Rennie (Dobro and Banjo) and Alan Finn (Double Bass).
Seven Sons’ debut CD was released in May 2014 after receiving the coveted Dundee Musicians Award. “Seven Songs from Seven Sons” was recorded live in the studio by producer Mark Small. Featuring a full band line up of Vocals, Ukeleles, Guitar, Dobro, Banjo, Fiddle and Double Bass, the CD has a mixture of original and traditional songs.
Seven Sons will be supported by the house band - ' The Mairs Family Band'
