George IV passes

George Hamilton IV, one of the nicest guys in Country music, has passed away at the age of 77.
George was one of the hardest working and most innovative entertainers in the business. He was working the Grand Ole Opry as recent as last Friday night, and had a UK tour lined up for November.
Early in his career he set up the first Nashville Tours of the stars homes, as was the first Country music entertainer to perform behind the iron curtain.
As well as hits like Abilene and Canadian Pacific, he performed gospel music and his tours involved churches as well as concert halls.
He had many connections to Scotland, through ancestry, and his fan club was run by Sue Marshall in Edinburgh.
RIP George .
