Country song for X Factor winner
"The Climb", written by Nashville singer songwriters Jessie Alexander and John Mabe, is reported to be the winners song on The X Factor, which concludes this weekend.
The song has already been a No.1 Country hit Stateside for Miley Cyrus. The Hannah Montana star's version had been nominated for a Grammy award next month, but has now been ruled out. The song had been shortlisted for the best song written for motion picture, television or other visual media prize, but because the track was not specifically written for the film, it has now been replaced by another song.
Writer Jessi Alexander was featured in the CMA's New From Nashville show at Celtic Connections a few years back. Although she has not recorded "The Climb" commercially, you can catch a video of her version on You Tube, and hear the song the way it was intended to be sung.
