2008 Country gigs
The Forth Valley Country music scene kicks off on Friday January 4th when Jolene & Barry play for their own local Country & Western Club, The San Quentin in Maddison.
The following evening, The Prairie Star kick off the year with Nebraska. Later in the month, on the 26th, Trampas will be playing for the club. Both events are in Weirs Club, Alloa.
Also to kick off the year, The No Angels girls have a visit from Carson City on the 11th in Stenhousemuir.
Dont forget, Celtic Connections will bring a number of Country acts to Glasgow later in the month. Country fans will want to catch Steve Earle & Alison Moorer playing the Royal Concert Hall on Thursday January 17th ; Jim Lauderdale with Laura McGhee in "Fae Tayside Tae Tennessee" on Jan 20th at St.Andrews In The Square, and with Steve Forbert on Tuesday Jan 22nd at the ABC. Suzy Boggus is at the ABC on the 29th. The same night kd lang plays the Royal Concert Hall.Other acts coming to Celtic Connections include Tim O'Brien, Mindy Smith, Michelle Shocked, Darrell Scott,Chris Thile, The Bills, Paul Burch, Diana Jones and Alison Brown.
